Orlando Pirates defender and former captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has left the Buccaneers after failing to command a regular position last season.
Hlatshwayo left Pirates after asking the club bosses to release him so that he can seek employment and game time elsewhere.
“When I came here I said I wanted a trophy and we were able to deliver on that mandate. Unfortunately, the second season didn’t work out the way I wanted it to and this is what has informed my decision to request the club to grant me my wish of leaving because I still have a lot to give and a lot to offer in the field of play,” Hlatshwayo said.
The former Ajax Cape Town defender, who is going to turn 33 in December, joined Pirates from Bidvest Wits in 2020.
