The disciplinary hearing of TK Boxing Promotions boss Tshele Kometsi, which was instituted by Boxing South Africa (BSA) is not over yet.
Ink Sport has learnt that the Gauteng Boxing Promoters Association (GBPA) chairperson is facing more than eight charges.
Initially, it was believed that Kometsi was appearing before the BSA DC to answer on only a charge related to the use of his credit card by some BSA officers. But we have now learnt that more charges have been added and more witnesses are yet to be called.
Former BSA chief financial officer Thabang Moses was suspended in February this year for allegedly sending a driver to withdraw R14 000 from Kometsi’s card. Moses resigned from BSA last month.
A four minutes and 48 seconds voice note, which made rounds last September, suggested that after a withdrawal was made, the money was lying around at the BSA offices in Hatfield, Pretoria.
Contacted for comment, acting BSA chief executive officer Nsikayezwe Sithole confirmed: “The disciplinary hearing is still on.”
Kometsi said when contacted: “There is no update on the matter as the DC is still continuing.”
