Kaine Fourie upset the applecart and put a stop to Khaya Busakwe’s three-year reign as Gauteng lightweight champion.

Kaine floored Busakwe in the third round when they clashed at the Uncle Tom’s Hall in Orlando West, Soweto, on Sunday.

Fourie improved his record to three wins with two stoppages and two losses while Busakwe dropped to seven victories (seven knockouts), three defeats and a draw.

Meanwhile, the Gauteng bantamweight title is vacant after Layten Gloss defeated Saul Hlungwani by a split decision in the main supporting bout.

This is so because Gloss left the title on the scales after failing to make the weight during the official weigh-in on Saturday.
