Matshidiso ‘The Tiger’ Mokebisi from Kroonstad in the Free State is not worried about his next opponent Katie Healy’s perfect record of four wins.

Instead, Mokebisi is planning to make sure that Healy falls when they meet in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) female junior-featherweight title fight at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, on Friday, 8 July.

“We are working very hard planning for this fight. We don’t know much about our opponent except that she’s unbeaten. Anyway, that she is unbeaten is not going to be a problem,” Mokebisi said.

This is the second time that Mokebisi challenges for a world title. She was beaten by former world champion Bukiwe Nonina in a WBF female bantamweight title contest in July 2017.

Mokebisi, who is trained by Springkaan Khongoane in Bloemfontein, defeated Chiedza Homakoma from Zimbabwe in her last fight two months ago.

On the other hand, the 24-year-old Wolverhampton-based Healy goes to the Mokebisi fight on the back of a win over Hungarian-Romanian Gabriella Mezei in April.
