Lusanda ‘Mexican’ Komanisi is not giving away much in the build-up to Sunday’s fight against Tanzanian boxer Cosmas Cheka.
Instead, Komanisi prefers to say that he and his trainer Vusi Mtolo have a plan to show the Tanzanian flames when they meet at the Meropa Casino in Polokwane.
The 32-year-old Mdantsane boxer will be defending his World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan-African lightweight title when he clashes with Cheka.
“We have done everything at the gym to ensure that we win this fight. However, I cannot divulge what we will exactly do to the guy during the fight,” Komanisi said.
Komanisi has won his last four fights with stoppages while Cheka won three and lost once in his last four bouts.
Meanwhile, the former South African and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight titlist is going to use the Cheka bout as a warm-up fight for his clash against Tshifhiwa ‘Atomic Spider’ Munyai.
Komanisi has signed a contract to challenge SA lightweight champion Munyai at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday, 17 September.
