Young East London boxing trainer Khangelani Jack has confirmed that he left Xaba Boxing Academy earlier this week.
The 33-year-old former professional boxer also revealed that he’s going to start training his boxers in Nxarhuni next week.
“Manager Thembelani Hlombe resigned because he was going to start his own gym. I then decided to join him since he’s the one who brought me to Xaba Boxing Academy. I’m going to start my own gym at Eluxolweni Hall in Nxarhuni on Monday next week. That’s all I’m prepared to say,” Jack said.
Xaba Boxing Academy managing director Linda Saliwa announced through a press release on Monday that Hlombe had resigned with immediate effect.
Jack trained boxers like current South African featherweight champion Asanda ‘Dynamite’ Gingqi, vastly-talented Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha and Siphamandla Baleni.
Meanwhile, former South African junior-bantamweight champion Miniyakhe Sityata has denied that he’s returning to East London to train Xaba Boxing Academy boxers.
“I’m just coming to East London as I have been invited to the launch of the Xaba Boxing Promotions tournament. I’m not coming to train boxers. I have a job in Johannesburg,” Sityata said.
The 30 July tournament is going to be launched at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Thursday (18h00).
