Following his impressive performances in his last two fights in East London, South African champion Mpumelelo Tshabalala will return to the Eastern Cape city to make the first defence of his national junior-flyweight title on Friday, 29 July.
Tshabalala is scheduled to defend his title against number one contender Sikho Moshani at a tournament, which is going to be promoted by Xaba Boxing Promotions at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC).
Tshabalala from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni won the title when he stopped former SA minimumweight champion Xolisa Magusha in the fifth round during their fight at the same East London venue three months ago.
Moshani will go to the Tshabalala fight on the back of a first round stoppage of Xolisile Voyi at the Orient Theatre in December last year.
Both Tshabalala and Moshani have seven fights in the paid ranks with the champion winning six of his bouts with four of those victories coming via the short distance and a loss.
On the other hand, Moshani from Duncan Village has won five times, scoring two knockouts and losing twice.
