Helman Mkhalele is pleased with what he saw as Bafana Bafana are preparing for the COSAFA Cup, which is going to be held in Durban from Tuesday, 5 July until the 17th.
Mkhalele, who is Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ assistant, has been tasked with coaching the team during the COSAFA Cup tournament and will announce his final 23 on Thursday.
Bafana will then travel to Durban on Sunday, 10 July – three days before they play against Mozambique.
“The training session went so well and the players responded. To my surprise you look at the attitude of these boys and the work ethic it was amazing to observe. Mostly, especially when you look at the situation where they are coming from in relation to preseason training,” Mkhalele remarked.
The 52-year-old Newwcastle-born coach added that he was impressed with the players’ attitude during the training session.
“In terms of quality, we are still to assess to make the final decision in terms of which players are going to be in the final 23,” Mkhalele, who played 66 times for Bafana, said.
