Gqeberha-based South African female champion Nozipho Bell is excited after she received her IBF belt from boxing promoter David Faas of David Productions.
Bell was presented with her IBF belt after a six months wait since her win over Matshidiso Mokebisi from Kroonstad last December.
The former World Boxing Federation (WBF) female featherweight champion outpointed Mokebisi to win the IBF Intercontinental female junior-lightweight title at the Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Gqeberha.
“I received my belt on Thursday last week and I’m very happy now. Actually, I have always known that I would get my belt one day,” Bell said.
Having received her belt, Bell from Walmer in Gqeberha now hopes to get her first fight of the year. Bell fought three times last year.
“I would love to defend my SA title before defending the IBF Intercontinental title,” the two-time SA champion remarked.
