Bafana Bafana failed in the first hurdle in the Cosafa Cup as they were beaten 5-4 on penalties by Mozambique in a quarter-final match played at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Wednesday evening.
The match between Bafana and the Mambas was decided on penalties after the two sides had failed to score in regulation time.
Meanwhile, Senegal’s Teranga Lions advanced to the semi-finals following a 10-9 win over eSwatini on penalties earlier.
This encounter went to penalties after the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
