Banyana Banyana defeated Tunisia 1-0 in a Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final encounter at the Prince Heritier Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday evening.
Hard-working and reliable Banyana Banyana striker Jermaine Seoposenwe scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute to set up a semi-final clash against Zambia on Monday next week.
As a result of the win, Banyana Banyana have also qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, which is going to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Hosts Morocco, Zambia and Nigeria have also qualified for the Women’s World Cup tournament by virtue of reaching the FAWCON semi-finals.
