The Super Falcons of Nigeria have become the third team to qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, which is going to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
This follows after the Super Falcons defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 in a Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final match at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco, on Thursday evening.
Top scorer Rasheedat Ajibade netted in the second half to hand the Super Falcons the win. The Super Falcons are going to face Morocco in the semi-finals on Monday next week.
Meanwhile, hosts Morocco and Zambia qualified for the Women’s World Cup finals on Wednesday.
