The University of Cape Town conferred an honorary doctorate in social sciences on Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung on Friday.
The university acknowledged the role Motaung, a former Orlando Pirates and Chiefs forward, played since forming Amakhosi more than five decades ago.
Motaung, who turns 78 on 16 October, turned Amakhosi into one of the most successful footbalI clubs in Africa.
