Having stopped his last three opponents, Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni is hoping to continue with his winning form as he faces Filipino boxer Reymond Yanong on Thursday.

The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion and his opponent from the Philippines meet in a 10 rounds international bout at The Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg.

“I have been working very hard preparing for this fight. I had two fights that were postponed in May and June. We have done our job and we are waiting to step into the ring,” Ndongeni said.

KwaBhaca-born Ndongeni has not fought since his win over Malawian Israel Kam’mwamba at the Ingwenyama Lodge in White River, Mpumalanga, last December.

“It has not escaped my mind that I last fought in December last year. I’m ready for this fight. I’m always fit whenever I go to a fight. I spent half of June preparing for this fight in Duncan Village. Then I came back to Johannesburg to continue with my preparations,” Ndongeni remarked.
