Royal AM chief executive officer Sinky Mnisi has given himself special leave amid rumours that he has been suspended by the club.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Mnisi touched on a number of issues including the appointment of Khabonina Zondo as Thwihli Thwahla coach.
The former Highlands Park director also spoke about the sale of Thwihli Thwahla striker Victor Letsoalo to Sekhukhune United.
It has been suggested that Mnisi appointed Zondo as he was doing favours to an old friend. Mnisi and Zondo worked together at Classic in Tembisa.
“I can’t hire a coach because I don’t pay coaches at Royal AM. I wouldn’t have hired Khabo Zondo. Any reports that said I hired the coach, it’s a lie,” Mnisi said.
On his rumoured suspension by club owner Shauwn Mpisane, Mnisi said: “I remain the CEO of Royal AM FC, but I am taking a special leave. I am not resigning. I have informed the president. I have sent an email to the club that I’m taking special leave. I have never been suspended. No one has shown me a suspension letter. There is no charge sheet. I’m going to relax.”
Shockingly, the former Classic boss revealed that he was never consulted before Letsoalo was sold to Babina Noko.
“I was never part of the sale of Victor Letsoalo. I do not know how much Letsoalo was sold for. I have not seen the contract. I did not issue the clearance also. I have not been party to that. I don’t know what happened with that deal,” he said.
