Swallows FC defeated Cape Town City 3-2 in a DStv Premiership match played at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday evening.

The Dube Birds flew to a 2-0 lead inside 25 minutes when Waseem Isaacs and Tsediso Patjie netted. Isaacs headed in Pentjie Zulu’s cross in the 16th minute and seven minutes later, Patjie’s grass cutter made it 2-0.

The Citizens didn’t give up despite trailing by two goals and their efforts were rewarded with Darwin Gonzalez’s goal in the 31st minute 

The Venezuelan rounded off Swallows goalkeeper Thakasani Mbanjwa before sending the ball into the back of the net following Khanyisa Mayo’s pass. Mayo brought parity to the scoreline when he scored for the Citizens in the 61st minute. 

However, the Dube Birds had the last laugh as they netted their winning goal through Siboniso Mtshali’s penalty in added time.
