Scenery Park boxer Noxolo Makhanavu’s quest to return to the top in boxing continues as she’s going to face Zimbabwean Patience Mastara on Sunday, 4 September.
This clash between the former South African female flyweight champion and the Zimbabwean is scheduled for the East London International Convention Centre (ICC).
Makhanavu, who relinquished her SA female flyweight title because of weight problems in August last year, will be making her second appearance in the bantamweight division.
She was beaten by Melissa Miller in her first fight in the bantamweight division at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, four months ago.
Nozwelethu Mathontsi, meanwhile, will also return to action when she comes up against Hariet Mutende from Malawi. Mathontsi from Mdantsane will be fighting for the first since her stoppage loss to Tanzanian boxer Halima Vunjabei in Polokwane in September last year.
