Kaizer Chiefs won their second match of the season when they defeated Richards Bay FC 1-0 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday evening.
The only goal of the match came after Dillan Solomons, who joined Amakhosi from neighbours Swallows FC, converted a penalty in the 63rd minute.
Chiefs played a whole hour with 10 men after their midfielder Yusuf Maart was shown a red card by match referee Abongile Tom in the 30th minute.
Meanwhile, Maritzburg United came from behind to beat Chippa United 2-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
Frenchman Amadou Soukouna scored the Team of Choice’s winning goal in the 90th minute.
Zambian Friday Samu had equalised for the Team of Choice on the stroke of half-time after the Chilli Boys took the lead in the 33rd minute through Etiosa Ighodaro, who scored following Siphelele Luthuli’s free kick.
