Filipino boxing trainer Julius Erving Junco has advised world title contender Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga to show more aggression when he faces Mexican Hector Flores.
Nontshinga is scheduled to face off with Flores in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title contest in Hermosillo, Sorona, Mexico on Saturday, 3 September (4 September, South African time).
“He needs to be aggressive and throw a lot of punches. We know that Flores is a brawler. Nontshinga needs to control Flores and also remember that he will be fighting in the opponent’s territory,” Junco said.
Junco from Omega Boxing Gym in the Philippines knows what Nontshinga can do inside the ring as he was in Filipino boxer Christian Araneta’s corner when he lost to the world title hopeful in an elimination bout in Gqeberha in April last year.
Meanwhile, the unbeaten Nontshinga together with his trainer Colin Nathan, his father Thembani Gopheni and Royal Talent Management’s Siya Zingelwa will leave South Africa for Mexico over the weekend.
