A first half goal scored by Khanyisa Mayo proved enough for Cape Town City as they defeated TS Galaxy 1-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday evening.
Mthatha-born Mayo put the ball past Rockets goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi following a cross inside the box from Darwin Gonzalez.
As a result of the win, coach Eric Tinkler’s Citizens became the first team to beat the Rockets this season. Buthelezi also conceded a goal for the first time this term.
