Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) chairman Teris Ntutu didn’t hold back when he addressed acting Boxing South Africa (BSA) chief executive officer Nsikayezwe Sithole on Tuesday.
Welcoming newly-crowned International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning, Ntutu castigated Sithole for failing to mete out equal treatment to promoters.
“We can really do more. Let’s make sure CEO that we attend these tournaments. We staged many tournaments in East London, but we don’t see BSA there. I’m talking about the top management of boxing,” Ntutu said.
“We can’t see BSA only when we have world champions. We must see you at our tournaments. I always see the board when there’s TV. When there are tournaments in Gauteng, East London where there are many cameras we see BSA and that is not right.”
BSA board members led by chairperson Luthando Jack and administrators including Sithole have attended televised boxing tournaments around the country.
However, not a single BSA administrator or board member attended RAP’s tournament, which was held at the Orient Theatre in East London two months ago.
