Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has called six new players to his squad to face Sierra Leone and Botswana in two international friendly matches later this month.

TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi has made it into the Bafana squad following impressive performances for the Rockets.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Mihlali Mayambela, Zakhele Lepasa, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Luke le Roux have made it into the Bafana squad for the first time.

“The reason we are playing Sierra Leone, Botswana is because the last three results were not good and people were angry saying I must go. We were very criticised even though we played world champions and Morocco who have top players. The backlash was bad. So I thought let’s go this route and also get confidence back,” Broos said

Meanwhile, one of Mamelodi Sundowns’ top performers Themba Zwane has finally made it back into the Bafana fold.

Bafana are scheduled to face Sierra Leone on Saturday, 24 September and Botswana three days later. Both matches are going to be played at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
