Hard-hitter Lwandile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke is going to test his boxing prowess against Jayr Raquinel from the Philippines.

Ngxeke and his Filipino opponent are set to go into a duel for the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight title at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Sunday, 23 October.

The South African junior-bantamweight champion from Sada in the Eastern Cape will go to battle with Raquinel having stopped his opponents in his two fights this year.

He stopped Athenkosi Dumezweni in the 10th round to win the then vacant SA junior-bantamweight title at the Sun City Superbowl in Rustenburg in April.

Ngxeke then went on to defend his title with a fourth round stoppage win over Lindile Tshemese three months ago.

On the other hand, Raquinel hasn’t fought since he lost to his compatriot Giemel Magramo in October last year.

Ngxeke is still unbeaten after winning nine fights (four knockouts) and drawing once while Raquinel has a professional record of 12 victories (nine stoppages), two defeats and a draw.
