Chippa United beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.
Second half substitute Ronaldo Maarman scored the Chilli Boys’ winning goal in the 50th minute.
Maarman had only been on the field for five minutes after replacing Thulani Mini when he scored for the Chilli Boys.
This was the second successive win for the Eastern Cape side since the sacking of former coach Daine Klate last week.
Meanwhile, Lamontville Golden Arrows gave a hapless Swallows FC a 4-0 hiding at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban.
Nduduzo Sibiya scored a brace while the other two goals were netted by Pule Mmodi and Nqubeko Dlamini.
