While Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga is still basking in glory after annexing the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title earlier this month, there’s a Filipino boxing trainer who thinks his boxer can dim the lights of the East London star.

Julius Erving Junco from the Philippines believes Nontshinga would be easy for his boxer Christian ‘The Bomb’ Araneta.

Junco thinks so despite having been in Araneta’s corner when he was beaten by the world champion in an elimination bout in Gqeberha in April last year.

“We are 100 percent interested in fighting against Nontshinga. If a rematch will happen the more chances that Araneta will knock him out,” Junco said.

Nontshinga, who has won all his 11 fights, outpointed Araneta despite the Filipino dropping him in the 12th round last year.

Araneta is rated fifth by the IBF and is eighth on the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) ratings. He has fought and won three times since losing Nontshinga. The 27-year-old Mandaue City-born Araneta’s last fight was against the late Toto Landero three months ago.
