Richards Bay FC’s Siyanda Msani is the latest addition in the Bafana Bafana squad as they are preparing for international friendly matches against Sierra Leone and Botswana.

The 21-year-old Msani was called up to replace injured Mamelodi Sundowns new recruit Terrence Mashego.

“In regards to Terrence Mashego, he sustained an injury prior to joining the Bafana camp. As a standard procedure, even in the case of a player is injured, he presents himself for assessment and investigation. With regards to that, he has not trained since arrival. We secured radiology investigation, which indeed confirmed our suspicion. As a result, we had to release him,” Bafana medico Doctor Tshepo Molobi said on Wednesday.

Mashego is the third player to withdraw from the team due to injury. Lyle Foster was replaced by Ashley du Preez while Siyanda Xulu came in place of injured Thibang Phete.

Bafana clash with Sierra Leone at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday. They then face Botswana at the same venue on Tuesday next week.
