Asanda ‘Dynamite’ Gingqi’s one-year reign as a South African featherweight champion has come to a screeching halt.
This follows after Gingqi was dethroned by Jeff Magagane at the Portuguese Hall in Turffontein, Johannesburg, on Sunday afternoon.
Magagane worked very hard and made sure that Gingqi didn’t use his power to overcome him. Power Park-born Magagane controlled the fight throughout as Gingqi failed to neutralise his southpaw stance.
This was sweet revenge for Magagane, who was beaten by Gingqi during their amateur days.
