Matshidiso ‘Scorpion Queen’ Mokebisi is so serious about retaining her South African female junior-featherweight title so much that she arrived in Gqebera early.

Mokebisi from Kroonstad in the Free State is set to defend her title against Kirkwood’s Monalisa Takane at the Feathermarket Theatre, Gqebera, this coming Sunday.

“I’m already here after arriving on Wednesday evening. I’m here to win, nothing else,” the 33-year-old Mokebisi said.

This is going to be Mokebisi’s fourth fight this year having won twice and lost once. She defeated Zimbabweans Chiedza Homakoma and Patience Mastara and lost to Katie Healy from Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) junior-featherweight tile fight.

“I feel sorry for this girl because she’s not in my league. The stage is going to be too big for her,” Mokebisi remarked.

Meanwhile, Thato ‘Captain Charisma’ Bonokoane faces Argentine boxer Diego Alberto ‘El Profeta’ Ruiz in a WBF junior-featherweight tile contest in the same bill of the tournament, which is promoted by Jacob Mnisi’s J4Joy Boxing Promotions.
