Angolan side Petro de Luanda walked over Cape Town City beating the Citizens 3-0 in a CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg match at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Citizens’ problems began seven minutes before the half-time break when Gleison Moreira netted for the Angolans.
Three minutes into the second half, Tiago Leal made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Mpho Makola had fouled Deivi Vieira inside the box.
Leal made sure that the Angolans go to the second leg with a comfortable lead when he completed his brace and scored Petro’s third goal in the 63rd minute.
