Asemahle ‘Predator’ Wellem will be back in action just less than a month after he captured the South African super-middleweight title.
Unbeaten Wellem, who shocked Cowin Ray stopping him in the fourth round to win the SA title 10 days ago, is now billed to fight against Tinashe Zihove at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 30 October.
The 27-year-old Zihove from Zimbabwe will go to battle with Wellem having lost his last four fights.
Actually, Zihove has an unimpressive record of only one win against five defeats with three of those losses coming via stoppages.
Wellem’s quick return to action is part of Tewo Boxing Promotions’ plans to make sure that the national champion remains active.
The 21-year-old Chintsa-born Wellem, who is trained by Vusi Mtolo, has won all his five fights.
The bout between Wellem and Zihove is going to be on the undercard of Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha’s fight against Orlie Silvestre from the Philippines.
