Boxing South Africa (BSA) is still pursuing its case against boxers’ trainer Michael Sediane even though he’s yet to appear before the regulatory body’s disciplinary committee four months after he was suspended.

This was revealed by acting BSA chief executive officer Nsikayezwe Sithole.

BSA suspended Sediane after it charged him with assault in June. This followed after Sediane landed a series of blows to Jeff Magagane following the South African featherweight champion’s fight against his boxer Sithembiso Maduna in May.

“The case against Mr Michael Sediane is still on though he’s yet to appear before the DC. He remains suspended from all boxing activities,” Sithole said.

Sediane accompanied his boxer Sphelele Myeza to England last week. Myeza lost to Briton Matt Windle via an 11th round stoppage during a Commonwealth junior-flyweight title fight last Saturday.

“He knows he’s not supposed to be part of anything that has to do with boxing. I have been told that he went to England last week. How that happened I don’t know. We have to look at this,” Sithole added.

Meanwhile, Sediane didn’t hide the fact that he’s still involved in boxing activities despite his suspension.

“I have not stopped working in boxing, everyone knows that. My boxers are active. People from BSA knew that I was overseas,” he said.
