Boxing trainer Julius Erving Junco has ruled out an International Boxing Federation (IBF) elimination bout between his boxers Mark Mendoza Vicelles and Christian Araneta.

Instead, Junco is looking at an all-Filipino elimination bout between unbeaten Vicelles and Regie Suganob, who is also yet to lose.

This follows after Mexican boxer Hector Flores ‘chickened out’ of an eliminator against Vicelles as per the IBF’s order. Flores is rated third by the IBF and Vicelles is fourth.

“IBF’s order is supposedly Vicelles against Araneta, but both are my boxers. We can’t do that. Next is Regie Suganob, who is also from Philippines, but from another stable,” Junco said.

Araneta, who lost to current IBF junior-flyweight champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga in April last year, is rated fifth by the IBF.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Vicelles from Omega Boxing Gym has stopped 10 of his 17 victims and has only one draw.

Suganob, a 24-year-old boxer from Bohol, is rated sixth by the IBF and is unbeaten in 12 bouts. He is trained by Edsel Burlas and Ninolito Janaiz.
