A match of two halves between Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Friday evening. 

Usuthu had a storming first half raiding the Pirates territory only to be let down by their wayward shooting. 

After numerous attempts at the Buccaneers goal, Usuthu finally took the lead through Siphesihle Maduna’s penalty in the 35th minute. 

Pirates equalised through Kermit Erasmus on the stroke of half-time. This was Erasmus’ first goal since rejoining Pirates last month. 

Pirates had a chance to take the lead in the 61st minute, but Nkosinathi Sibisi’s penalty was saved by AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa. 

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC held Lamontville Golden Arrows to a 1-1 draw at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban. 

Thabani Zuke equalised for Abafana Bes’thende in referee’s added time after Jayden Adams had given Stellies the lead in the 23rd minute.
