Having last played almost a month ago doesn’t bother Chippa United captain and defender Roscoe Pietersen.
Instead, Pietersen believes Saturday is the perfect time for his team to play against Chiefs as the Chilli Boys visit Amakhosi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban (17h30).
Chiefs will go to the match on the back of three successive wins, which have taken them to the top-five in the DStv Premiership table.
“The plan is obviously to compete, play to win. We are also a bit high-riding. Obviously, we haven’t played for four weeks, but we come from back-to-back wins,” Pietersen said
“I think it’s the perfect time to play them. It’s always good to play against a team that’s also feeling good, especially a big team like Kaizer Chiefs.”
The Chilli Boys have not played since Saturday, 17 September, when they defeat Marumo Gallants 1-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqebera.
A week before beating Gallants, the Eastern Cape club beat AmaZulu 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
