Cape Town City stopped Chippa United on their tracks beating them 2-1 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Citizens came from behind to snatch the much-needed victory courtesy of goals from Khanyisa Mayo and Thamsanqa Mkhize.
It looked like the Chilli Boys were going to get their straight fifth win when Ronaldo Maarman gave them the lead in the 31st minute.
However, things didn’t go well for the Eastern Cape side as the Citizens came back stronger in the second half. Mayo, who had substituted Mduduzi Mdantsane in the 66th minute, equalised for the Citizens six minutes after entering the fray.
Mkhize netted the Citizens’ winning goal seven minutes before full-time. Mpho Makola’s free kick hit the post and Mkhize was on hand to score for the Citizens.
