After losing 3-0 to Orlando Pirates in an MTN8 semi-final second leg match last weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns bounced back in the best possible way as they thumped Maritzburg United 5-0 in a DStv Premiership clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The match was delayed by almost an hour because of lightning. But the delay didn’t dampen Sundowns’ spirits as they took the lead through Haashim Domingo in the 26th minute following Thapelo Morena’s good cross.

Three minutes later, Morena registered his name on the scoresheet doubling the Tshwane giants’ lead after a nice pass from Neo Maema.

Morena was once again the provider as he crossed for Cassius Mailula to net the Brazilians’ third goal on the stroke of half-time.

Domingo scored his second goal of the match from yet another Morena cross in the 67th minute. The Brazilians were not done yet as Mailula completed his brace in the 76th minute making it 5-0 for the defending DStv Premiership champions.
