The Proteas beat India by five wickets in a Twenty20 World Cup Group 2 Super 12 match at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia, on Sunday.
Chasing 134 to win in 20 overs, the Proteas knocked 137 for five in 19,4 overs with Aiden Markram hitting 52 from 41 deliveries while David Miller scored 50 runs after facing 40 balls.
Proteas bowler Lungisani Ngidi starred with the ball taking four wickets and conceding 29 runs in four overs. Ngidi, who came in for Tabrais Shamsi, claimed the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Kunnanur Rahul, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandy to limit India to 133 for nine in their alloted 20 overs.
