Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu will approach the MTN8 final seeking gloey when they meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday evening.
Pirates have won the trophy 10 times and are looking for yet another triumph, which might lead to them keeping the trophy for good while Usuthu want to end a 30-year trophyless stream.
“Great encounter between two good teams. It will be important to be prepared physically and mentally. I know the opposition is not going to make it easy. It’s been some some time since we won a trophy. It will be good to take this trophy. We have the ability to win,” Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi said.
Meanwhile, coach Romain ‘Fohloza’ Folz’s Usuthu last won a trohpy when they beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the 1992 Coca-Cola Cup final. They lost 3-0 to Wits University in the Nedbank Cup final in May 2010.
“We have both earned to be here. The game is going to be intense from the first minute. As much as they are prepared, we are also prepared,” the Frenchman said.
