A win over Mozambique left Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos a happy man after his team came from behind to beat the Mambas 2-1 in an international friendly match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Thursday evening.

The visitors shocked Broos and his boys when they scored first through Nelson Divrasonne in the 13th minute.

After trailing by an odd goal at half-time, Bafana came back with more purpose and Bongokuhle Hlongwane equalised 11 minutes into the second half.

United States-based Hlongwane, who plays for Minnesota United, gave Bafana the lead after he completed his brace in the 59th minute.

“I think we played a very good game. We did little mistakes at the beginning of the game. We dominated, we played good football. We had 10 chances. I think we can be happy with the performance. I’m not only happy, I’m also proud of that team,” Broos said.

The 70-year-old Belgian will now lead Bafana when they play against Angola in another international friendly match at the same Nelspruit venue on Sunday afternoon.
