France’s Les Bleus have received the worst news that their star striker Karim Benzema is going to miss the FIFA World Cup finals starting in Qatar on Sunday.
Benzema was ruled out of the tournament following an injury he picked up at training on Saturday. The Real Madrid limped off the field injured on his return to full training with Les Bleus on Saturday evening.
The 34-year-old Ballon d’Or holder, who was born in Lyon, France, will miss the world showpiece because he is carrying a thigh injury.
