Nozipho Bell from Gqeberha retained her South African female junior-lightweight title at the Babs Madlakane Hall in KwaNobuhle, Kariega, on Sunday evening.
Walmer-based Bell stopped Mashudu Ramakwela from Thohoyandou in Limpopo in the second round in her second defence of the national title. Bell’s first defence was against Ntombokuqala Tolashe in October.
Bell, who is the reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental female junior-lightweight champion, won the SA title after she outpointed Tolashe in July last year.
Meanwhile, former South African welterweight champion Mziwoxolo Ndwayana defeated Ugandan Nicholas Jooga by an eighth round technical knockout in the main supporting bout.
