Bangile Nyangani is scheduled to defend his South African minimumweight title when he faces off with Siyakholwa Kuse in an all-Eastern Cape shoutout early next year.
Mthatha-born Nyangani, who is trained by Alan Toweel in Johannesburg, will be making his third defence of the national title he won after he outpointed Kuse in East London in July last year. The rematch is scheduled for Thursday, 23 February.
Rated in the top 15 by the world’s top four boxing bodies, Nyangani successfully defended his title against Gaveni Nkwenteni and Loyiso Ngantweni.
Nyangani is rated 13th by the World Boxing Council (WBC), he’s eighth on the World Boxing Association (WBA) ratings, rated 12th by both the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO).
Meanwhile, Kuse from Mdantsane has fought and won once since his loss to Nyangani. He defeated Malawian George Kandulo at the Portuguese Hall in Turffontein, Johannesburg, in September this year.
