Log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns eased past Orlando Pirates beating the Buccaneers 2-0 in a DStv Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Friday afternoon.
Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala headed past Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane to give the Brazilians the lead four minutes before the half-time break.
The Tshwane giants doubled the lead when second half substitute Cassius Mailula tapped in after Mpontshane had failed to hold on to the ball following Neo Maema’s attempt on the 63rd minute.
Following this victory, the defending champions have collected 31 points from 13 matches while Bucs have 19 in 14 games.
