Kaizer Chiefs’ miserable run continued as they were beaten 1-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in a DStv Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday evening.

A Neo Maema goal in the 20th minute gave the defending DStv Premiership champions the win as they have now collected 46 points from 15 wins, a draw and two losses.

On the other hand, this was Amakhosi’s third successive defeat having lost 4-0 to AmaZulu and 1-0 to Sekhukhune United in recent matches.

The Brazilians, who beat Chiefs in the first round, have now set a new record of 12 consecutive wins. They won 11 consecutive matches between January and April 2007.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Limpopo club Marumo Gallants at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Gallants scored first through Joseph Molangoane in the 12th minute and Junior Sede Dion equalised for Usuthu seven minutes before the half-time break.
