Simangele “Smash” Hadebe is preparing to defend her African Boxing Union (ABU) flyweight title against Revai Madondo from Shurugwi in Zimbabwe on Saturday, 18 March.

This is going to be the second time Hadebe defends her ABU belt as she defeated Tanzanian Stumai Muki in her first title defence in August last year. Hadebe won the belt after she beat Tanzanian Stumai Muki six months earlier.

Hadebe, the reigning South African female flyweight champion, has not lost a fight since her points loss to Russian Sofia Abraamyan in Russia in February 2019.

On the other hand, Madondo has been on a roll, winning her last six bouts since losing twice on the row in a fight against her compatriot Zvikomborero Danzwa in May 2018. The 27-year-old Madondo stopped Malawian Chimwemwe Banda during their fight in October last year.
