Xaba Promotions boss Ayanda Matiti has made it clear that he’s not going to promote former South African champion Siphamandla ‘Toytoy’ Baleni anymore.
Matiti said this following Baleni’s decision to reunite with East London boxing trainer Khangelani Jack after leaving Xaba Boxing Club together with his Mthatha homeboy Sange Ngoza last week.
“He’s gone. He can’t leave half-heartedly. We no longer promote him. He will fight in our tournaments only as an opponent to one of our boxers,” Matiti said.
Prior to his departure, Baleni, who is a former South African minimumweight and junior-flyweight champion, had been with Xaba Promotions for more than six years.
Meanwhile, Jack left Xaba Boxing Club taking along Nhlanhla Tyirha, Zolisa Batyi and Asanda Gingqi in June last year.
