AmaZulu captain and midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has left the Durban-based club to join Soweto side Orlando Pirates on an 18 months contract.
The 33-year-old Makhaula from Mohlakeng in Randfontein was released by Usuthu after he signed a pre-contract with the Buccaneers earlier this month.
“AmaZulu FC have reached an agreement with Orlando Pirates for the release of club captain and midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula which takes effect in the current transfer window,” a statement from Usuthu said on Tuesday.
The bearded Makhaula said about his move to Pirates: “I’m so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the country. It’s a dream come true for me.”
