Portuguese mentor Carlos Queiroz was confirmed as the new national team coach ofQatar on Monday.
The 69-year-old coach was in charge of the Iran national team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals held in Qatar between November and December last year.
Queiroz, who was born in Nampula, Mozambique, has coached the national teams of Portugal, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Colombia, Egypt and Iran. He had two spells with both Portugal and Iran.
