Mamelodi Sundowns have advanced to the last-16 of the Nedbank Cup after they defeated Richards Bay FC 3-2 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Tuesday evening.
The usual suspect Namibian international Peter Shalulile gave the Tshwane giants the lead in the 11th minute.
The Natal Rich Boyz equalised on the half hour mark after Nkanyiso Zungu beat Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango from the penalty spot.
Two minutes into the second half Mosa Lebusa restored the Brazilians’ lead with a header from Sipho Mbule’s corner and Shalulile completed his brace when he netted in the 55th minute to make it 3-1.
The Natal Rich Boyz scored their second goal through substitute Katlego Makateng in the 90th minute.
Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants also moved to the next round of the competition following a 3-1 win over Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Phokeng, Rustenburg.
