Coach Romain Folz believes that his team AmaZulu have what it takes to go far in the Nedbank Cup as they continue to prepare for the first round match against ABC Motsepe League side Tornado FC.

Usuthu clash with the Northern Cape amateur side at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, this coming Sunday.

The Durbanites have not done well in the Nedbank Cup in recent seasons and Folz wants to change that. AmaZulu, who were semi-finalists in 2012, have not gone past the second round since.

“It’s an important cup game for us. We plan just like any other game. We had scouts who travelled a couple of weeks ago to scout them over there,” Folz said.

Folz would love to see Usuthu going further in the Nedbank Cup, especially after they reached the MTN8 final earlier this season. They lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in the final.

“We still have the feeling we could have done better in the final. We have the capacity to get to that stage and we want to get far in this cup,” the former Marumo Gallants coach said.
